Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom gives you a chance to become part of a video game involving the Toy Story spaceman. You begin by entering the attraction from Rockettower Plaza. It is located around the corner from the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. At busier times, the line will wind around outside the building. At other times you can walk inside to begin. The line winds through a room and works its way back around to another area where Buzz himself greets you. Then you go into the loading room, where you board a space vehicle. The vehicle’s front panel is equipped with three key components. There are two “guns” and the vehicle control stick is in the middle. The guns shoot “lasers” at targets (marked with an X) throughout the ride. Every time you hit a target, you are given points on the score panel. At the end of the ride, you can see the scoreboard to determine how you rank. The control stick turns the vehicle in circular motion.
Some key tips here: (1) be careful who controls the control stick or this may be become a dizzying experience, and (2) the targets farther away tend to be worth more points, but there are specific ones that are “high value” targets.
This ride is on a slow track with consistent speed and a smooth ride.
