Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is considered by many to be the best nighttime show at Walt Disney World. It is definitely unique. You view Fantasmic! from the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater, a 6,900 person venue that holds roughly 10,000 people including standing room. The show begins, and ends, with Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Fantasia. He battles villains and evil, with lasers, fireworks, mist, special lighting, and music going on all around. Fantasmic! is a visually stunning show. Take note that this show involves the good versus evil theme, with numerous evil characters appearing. The show can also be quite loud. To get a seat you should plan on arriving at least one hour early. Arriving between 30 minutes and one hour early will probably get you standing room, but that is not guaranteed. Fantasmic! is offered most nights during the busiest seasons, but make sure you check the daily time guide to see when it is being shown during your stay. Fantasmic! is not shown during inclement weather. It is possible to obtain a Fantasmic! Dinner Package, which includes a meal at one of three Hollywood Studios restaurants, and special seating for the show. The restaurants are Hollywood and Vine, The Hollywood Brown Derby, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano. Reservations for the Fantasmic! package are required. This is a nice way to spend an evening at Hollywood Studios. You get a good meal and then are allowed straight in to Fantasmic! without the wait.
