Star Tours

Star Tours in Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a motion simulator attraction that can thrill, disappoint, or just make you sick.  It can be disappointing to those expecting it to measure up to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, and other “thrill” rides.  It is not that.  It can make you sick if you are prone to motion sickness and prefer not to be jostled.  Otherwise, it should thrill.  We think it is a lot of fun and most people that ride seem to agree.  You begin by walking past huge Star Wars Storm Troopers into the main building.  The line winds quite a bit inside, going through three different rooms.  Along the way, you see space and Star Wars displays, including C3PO.  If the line is outside, the wait will be at least 30 minutes.  Once you reach the third room, you move into lines outside one of three motion simulators.  There are five rows of seats per simulator.  Once the doors open, you move across your row, sit down, and buckle in.  The ride itself is nearly five minutes.  It begins with a novice space pilot crashing you into the building from which your space vehicle is trying to leave.  From there, you shake, jostle, and are tossed around as the space vehicle careens through space.  After arriving safely at the space station, you exit through the Star Tours Shop.
