Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular in Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the most enduring of Walt Disney World’s attractions. It is an original attraction from the opening of the old Disney MGM Studios. Located near the back of the Echo Lake area on the left side, this is also, in our opinion, one of the top five shows at Walt Disney World. About ten minutes before the show begins, Disney cast members will select a total of ten audience members to participate. They will be selected in groups of 4, 3, and 3, and asked to perform some, well, interesting acts for the audience. They are then sent off to wardrobe. The show begins with Indiana Jones fighting off the huge boulder and a number of other perilous dangers. After a few stunts, Indiana Jones is introduced to the crowd. At this point, the set opens up into a large film set. The theme is a Middle Eastern marketplace. The audience is walked through a number of impressive stunts involving a large number of cast members in addition to the selected audience members. The show ends with a fiery blast by the airplane. The theater is covered, but it still gets hot here. We suggest arriving early to get good seats. It’s a good idea to bring at least some drinks with you. The Dig Site nearby is a good option to stock up before waiting. If you want to get picked, wear bright colors, yell loudly, and jump up and down.
