World Showcase

The World Showcase at Epcot is perhaps the most unique section of the Walt Disney World theme parks. This is an area that’s primary focus is not exciting attractions. The attraction here is the beauty, history, dining, and entertainment of eleven nations from across the globe.

You will love the opportunity to visit Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, The American Adventure (U.S.A.), and the United Kingdom. Each of these nations is represented with a pavilion that highlights the culture, food, history, and people of that nation.

Four of the nations (Canada, China, France, and the U.S.) have impressive theater presentations. Norway has a creative ride that might get you wet fighting a violent North Sea and Mexico takes you on a tranquil boat ride through romantic Mexico.

Each of the eleven nations features restaurants that serve dishes that closely resemble what you could expect to find in the actual nation. Dine in a wine cellar in Canada, enjoy Chinese favorites in China, delight in the skills of three of Paris’s most reknowned chefs in France, participate in a beer hall song and dance at Germany, eat classic pasta in Italy, watch the food cooked at your table in Japan, experience a moonlight dinner in Mexico, sample the charm of Morocco, try a koldtbord in Norway, grab a burger or hot dog at The American Adventure, and feast on fish and chips in the United Kingdom.

Shopping is a huge part of the World Showcase experience. Each nation has unique shops where you can find items that are probably not available anywhere else in the United States. Browsing the shops can be a full day activity for some.

Perhaps the best part of the World Showcase is the shear beauty it provides. The nations of the World Showcase have some of Walt Disney World’s most attractive gardens and landscaping. The streets and buildings of the nations are intricately designed replicas of actual landmarks from each nation. And the World Showcase lagoon, around which the nations are situated, is simply beautiful.

Each night at Epcot, weather permitting, Illuminations is shown around the World Showcase. The main display is on the lagoon, and take notice of the impressive lighting displays around the World Showcase nations.
