Test Track

Test Track is one of three super headliner attractions at Epcot. It is located in Future World East, and sits between Mission: Space and the World Showcase area. As you near the pavilion, you will see, and hear, the Test Track vehicles roaring around the track on the outside of the building. That part of this attraction is clearly the thrilling part that makes it so popular with thrill-seekers. When you enter Test Track, you will walk into a room full of test dummies and auto-making machinery. This is the main line area, which winds quite a bit through the front of the building. Enjoy the sights as you wait. Eventually, you will reach the top of the line area and enter into a loading area. You will then enter one of three briefing rooms, where you will be told what adventure awaits you. After the briefing room, you will enter the line area adjacent to the loading area. You will then board the vehicle, which is a GM test car that runs on a track. There are two seats that hold three people each. You will put on your seatbelt and prepare to enter the testing area. The ride is designed to feel like you are on a GM proving ground, and it does a very good job of making it feel that way. You start by encountering hills, sharp turns, and quick stops. These test the brakes, handling, and maneuverability of your vehicle. You then enter the environment testing rooms, where the vehicle goes through the heat chamber, the cold chamber, and the corrosive chamber. After completing these tests, the vehicle leaves the building and enters the test track, which encircles the building. The vehicle then begins to run on the track and eventually reach seventy miles per hour as it flings around the curve at the front of the building. Right as you leave the test track, your photo is snapped, which at this point will likely include some seriously disheveled hair. Test Track cannot run in the rain, so keep that in mind. Test Track includes some quick jerks and high speeds, so be careful here if you have physical concerns.
