Eguides: Walt Disney World

Future World

Future World is Epcot’s entrance area. Upon coming through the main entrance gates, you find yourself in the beginning of Future World, and are likely staring directly at Future World’s, and Epcot’s, most recognizable symbol, Spaceship Earth. Upon passing Spaceship Earth, you enter Innoventions Plaza, from where you can access Future World East, Future World West, and the World Showcase.

Future World is home to many attractions, the most notable being Epcot’s three super headliner attractions: Soarin’, Mission: Space, and Test Track. It is also home to two full service restaurants: Coral Reef and the Garden Grill. Add to that some shops, live performers, and some of the most beautiful grounds at Walt Disney World, and you can see why many people could spend their entire day, or more, just in Future World.

Future World is designed to be a celebration of the world’s ingenuity, from technology to manufacturing to the environment. Whether the theme is space, energy, automobiles, imagination, the land, or the seas, the world is on display in Future World. The attractions often allow a brief glimpse of the past followed by a strong look into the future.

Future World is open most days between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m, meaning is open two hours before World Showcase and closes two hours before World Showcase. Keep this in mind if you are planning to make a late run to the big attractions. During the busier times of the year, some Future World attractions will stay open until the entire park closes at 9:00 p.m.

Future World, like World Showcase, has a very different feel than the rest of Walt Disney World and other theme parks. You know you’re in a theme park, but it sure doesn’t feel like it. Enjoy the views, the grounds, and the attractions. Future world is a true delight for guests of all ages.
