Epcot

Epcot was Walt Disney World’s second theme park to open, in 1982, and is it’s largest in terms of area that guests can access.  Epcot is the counter to the fantasy of the Magic Kingdom, with its emphasis on the future, technology, and geography.  That’s probably enough to make most kids squirm!  We admit that Epcot is our favorite of the four Walt Disney World theme parks.  Many children would likely strongly disagree.  But just like there are fun things to do for adults are the Magic Kingdom, there is plenty for children at Epcot.  And if they can make it, the adults with them will have a fantastic time.

Epcot is divided into two distinct sections.  The first section, where most guests enter, is Future World.  It is full of amazing and exciting attractions, ranging from space travel to underwater adventure to dinosaurs.  Future World is home to Spaceship Earth, the attraction that is the main symbol of Epcot.  Also in Future World are Imagination!, Innoventions, The Land, Mission: Space, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Test Track, and Universe of Energy.

The World Showcase is the second section of Epcot.  It usually opens later than Future World and stays open longer at night.  World Showcase is home to eleven nations from around the world, letting you enjoy a world of culture, cuisine, and shopping that will make you wanting more.  The nations of World Showcase are Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, the United Kingdom, and the centerpiece of World Showcase, The American Adventure.
Epcot is home to wonderful live performances, ranging from street performers along the Future World and World Showcase promenades to bands and concerts in stages throughout World Showcase.  In addition, each evening at closing, Epcot presents Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.  This is a beautiful fireworks and laser show that takes place on and around the World Showcase Lagoon.
