Animation Academy

The Animation Academy is one of our favorite attractions in all of Walt Disney World. No, it doesn’t scare you, thrill you, or flip you upside down. But it allows you to do something you probably can’t do anywhere else, and then buy proof of it to take home. There are thirteen seats at a drawing desk, and you are led by a cast member in learning how to draw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. Classes are 30 minutes long and run throughout the day, starting at 12:00 p.m. with a new classes starting every 45 minutes afterward until the last class begins at 10:15 p.m. There is a schedule listing which character is being drawn in which class. While it takes a long time to do, if you have an artist in the family, see if you can find a way for them to experience all five characters. Note that the classes often fill up quickly, so try to be there at the end of the previous class to secure a seat. When you are done, you can head to the Order Desk/Guest Gallery to purchase copies of your drawings.
