Expedition Everest
Expedition Everest in Asia at Animal Kingdom is considered by many to be the best attraction at Walt Disney World. We rate it as one of two super headliner attractions at Animal Kingdom, along with Kilimanjaro Safaris. The mountain itself is incredible, and the ride is even better. Unlike many roller coasters, Expedition Everest has no loops or inversions. So everything should stay put in your pockets. It hits a top speed of 50 miles per hour, and has many turns and drops. The key component here is that you never know what is coming next. There are plenty of surprises on Expedition Everest. At one point, you “meet” the Yeti, and your coaster is hurled backward through the mountain. You enter into a Nepalese village, then board the roller coaster heading for the top of Mount Everest. After leaving the station, try to notice the view. It is possible to see Spaceship Earth at Epcot, and at times even downtown Orlando. Soon though, you hit the first drop and sights become a secondary concern. This is a great ride, but it is definitely one to avoid for those who dislike jerky movements, big drops, and heights.
