Africa

Africa is the land to the northwest corner of Animal Kingdom. It is also the largest Animal Kingdom land in full area. However, most of Africa is not accessible to guests as it is a true savannah and safari area. The only way to see this part of Africa is to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris or walk through the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, which cover a good deal of the area.

The “people” part of Africa has two entrances. The main entrance is the bridge from Discovery Island. The other entrance is the promenade along the Discovery River from Asia.

When entering from Discovery Island, you enter into Harambe, which is a replica of an African village. On the left are the restaurants, while the right is where you can find the main shop, Ziwani Traders (Mombasa Marketplace). Just past Ziwani Traders on the right is the entrance to the Harambe Train Station. This is where you board the Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Past the train station on the right side of Africa is the entrance to the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. The main attraction in Africa, Kilimanjaro Safaris, is straight ahead on the main promenade past Harambe.

When entering from Asia, you come from the right side of the main promenade. The riverfront promenade intersects the main promenade at the entrance to Harambe.
